1. Who can use Sirkel
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. You may not use Sirkel if we've previously banned you or if the law prohibits it. You're responsible for keeping access to your phone number and account secure.
2. Your account
You sign in with your phone number, verified by a one-time code. You agree to provide accurate information, not to impersonate anyone, and not to create an account for someone else or on behalf of a group without authorisation. One person, one account.
3. Acceptable use
Sirkel is a community. To keep it welcoming, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, or hate on anyone, or promote violence or discrimination.
- Post or send content that is sexual involving minors, hateful, obscene, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful.
- Spam, scam, phish, or send unsolicited promotions.
- Impersonate others or misrepresent who you are.
- Share other people's private information without consent.
- Break the law, infringe others' rights, or use Sirkel for commercial exploitation without our permission.
- Interfere with, scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create (your profile, photos, and messages). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and provide Sirkel — for example, showing your profile to nearby users and delivering your messages. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups for a limited period or as required by law. You are responsible for the content you share and confirm you have the right to share it.
5. Meeting people — your safety
Sirkel helps you discover people nearby, but we do not conduct background or identity checks on users, and we don't vouch for anyone. You are solely responsible for your interactions and for any decision to meet someone in person. Meet in public, tell someone where you're going, and use your judgement. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline.
6. Location
Core features rely on your device location, which you control through your device's permissions. We show others only a coarse sense of your proximity, never your exact location — see the Privacy Policy. Turning off location may limit what the app can do.
7. Suspension & termination
You can stop using Sirkel and delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licence for existing backups, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity) survive termination.
8. Disclaimers
Sirkel is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content is accurate or reliable.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sirkel and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service or from any interaction with another user. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud).
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sirkel and its operators from claims and expenses arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Sirkel after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law grants you other rights.
